Sofia Maslova

Sofia was born on 18.02.2004 in Moscow and started her music education at the age of 6 as a violinist. In 2017 she enrolled in the Moscow Gnessin Special School of Music for the class viola. She is currently playing in the Orchestra “Gnessin Virtuosi” and is also a member of the Youth Symphony Orchestra of Russia under the leadership of Yuriy Bashmet. In 2017 Sofia was awarded a special scholarship of the Governor of the Moscow region.

Sofia is a winner of many Russian and international competitions and participant of several international festivals, among them:
– the Moscow International Festival of Slavic music (2013) and laureate of the competitions (2016, 2017)
– Moscow regional open competition for violinists and cellists (2013)
– XI open cross-zone Strings Contest (2016)
– laureate of IX Moscow open Festival-contest of young performers of early music named after Leopold Mozart (2016)

International master classes:
– Summer art school “Vocation-musician” the Vienna Conservatory with Professor Anna Kandinskoj (2016)
– Musica Mundi Summer school in Belgium (July 2019)
